ABOUT Me
Dr. Anh Nguyen (Doctor Stik)
Former M.D. · Author of 4 Books · Ex-Director, IPPN · Applied Numerologist · Buddhist Practitioner
Hi everyone,
I am Dr. Anh Nguyen. A former M.D. A published author. And the person behind Doctor Stik.
My whole career has been about one question: why do people keep suffering the same way, even when they know their patterns, even when they know that the patterns are not good for them, and even when they are genuinely trying to change?
To answer that question, I explored different directions at the same time. Medicine gave me one lens. Neuroscience gave me another. Psychology, Buddhist practice, long conversations with patients, monks, and even strangers opened up even more diverse and unexpected perspectives.
Most people tend to choose one framework. I never could. Because in my experience, none of them feels complete on its own, each one reveals a part of the truth, but not the whole picture.
And here is the thing I kept noticing. As a former M.D. and former neurosurgeon, I spent years studying how the brain actually works. How it forms patterns. How it keeps repeating the same responses even when the conscious mind wants something different. How perception shapes what we experience as real. That is rigorous science. Measurable. Explainable. Unexplainable yet. This thrilling journey was well captured in my half-novel/half-selfhelp book “Madness and Masterpiece”.
But I also kept encountering things that science alone could not fully explain – the way we react without even thinking, and the way we seem to have been born with certain traits, both strengths and weakness, and habits that stay with us throughout life. Different fields describe this in different ways: in psychology, Carl Jung called them archetypes; personality psychology offers various trait models; Buddhism speaks of karma and conditioning; and in my own work, I relate most closely to numerology and the symbolic meaning of numbers. Across cultures and disciplines, we keep pointing to the same deeper patterns, just in different languages.
Numerology, for me, was always a bridge between those worlds. Not a replacement for science. Not a rejection of it. A complement. A way of mapping what the clinical frameworks describe in psychological terms, but through a different and often more personal spiritual language. It is a brigde among science, statistics, neuroscience, psychology and spiritual worlds. That why I have found it a very fascinating pseudoscience. I actually often call it a “spiritual science”.
I know that is not a conventional position for a neurosurgeon to take. But I have never been very good at choosing between things that both turn out to be true.
And all along, quietly and privately, I was also practicing numerology.
Along the way, numerology gradually and fascinatingly changed how I worked with people.
I started noticing that patients who had a strong 7 in their core numbers almost always needed me to give them a lot of information before they felt safe enough to open up. They do not prioritize warmth or reassurance but they instead need depth and substance. Once they had enough to think with, the trust would come.
Others with a Life Path 4 needed everything laid out in a clear and logical sequence. If I skipped ahead or gave them a conclusion without showing my reasoning step by step, they would quietly shut down.
And then there were people, certain combinations I started recognising, who did not need logic at all. What they needed first was to feel genuinely seen and understood. The information could come later, once the nervous system settled.
The same thing happened with colleagues and difficult workplace conversations. There were moments when a perfectly logical or sensible approach simply wasn’t working. In those situations, I would quietly look at the numbers in numerology, which often gave me insight into how a person’s mind and emotional reactions were naturally wired. It helped me understand them more deeply, respond with greater empathy, and approach difficult situations in a way that felt much smoother and more effective.
I never spoke about this publicly. It was simply part of my private “secret recipe” – something I quietly integrated into the way I worked for many years.
There comes a point where you stop following the path others expect and start following the one that feels true. For me, that moment came when I left Vietnam and began a new life in Australia.
Since then, I stepped away from medicine — not because I stopped caring about people, but because I found a different way to serve them. Through numerology, spiritual sharing, writing, and self-development work, I want to help people understand themselves in ways no prescription ever could. This is my new path. A bigger community. A deeper conversation.
So why am I talking about it now?
Because I kept thinking so many people out there in the world may still need to know their map. The person lying awake at 2am trying to understand why they keep arriving at the same painful place. The parent who wants to understand their child better. The professional who is doing everything right and still feels misaligned. The person who has tried therapy, read every self-help book, and still feels like something essential about how they are wired has never been clearly named.
A numerology report is not a diagnosis. It is not therapy. What it is, at its best, is a very precise mirror. One that shows you the shape of your patterns, the tensions in your chart, the timing of where you are right now. And when you combine that with a genuine understanding of how the brain works, what you get is something different from what most people have encountered before.
That is what I bring to this work: the precision of a logical mind alongside the depth of someone who has spent years studying the ancient science of numerology. Logic and spirit — not as opposites, but as partners.
Because I genuinely believe that when we better understand our own inner patterns – and the patterns of the people around us – we can improve our relationships, deepen mutual understanding, strengthen cooperation, and grow more consciously in every aspect of life. Numerology, to me, is not about superstition. It is a map that helps us understand human nature with greater mind clarity and heart compassion.
Everything I do ultimately comes back to the same principle I wrote about in one of my self-development books: the 3R Principle – Release. Return. Reside. A simple framework designed to help us break the cycles of chronic suffering, burnout, people-pleasing, overthinking, and emotional exhaustion.
At its core, the 3R Principle encourages us to:
• Release what no longer belongs to us.
• Return to who we truly are.
• Reside in a deeper sense of peace that feels like home within ourselves.
The 120-page Numerology Life Code Report is one of the most practical tools I use to begin that first step: Release. Because true release can only happen when we start to understand ourselves more clearly — why we behave the way we do, what naturally shapes our personality, what genuinely fulfills our heart, and what our soul is truly seeking.
One of the greatest sources of suffering is trying to force ourselves into models of success, happiness, or identity that were never designed for us in the first place. Every person is built differently. We each have different emotional needs, different strengths, different paths, and different ways of finding meaning in life.
When you begin to understand your own design more deeply, you stop comparing yourself so harshly to others. You stop chasing unrealistic expectations that were never aligned with your nature. And gradually, you can release the attachment to things that do not truly belong to your mind, heart, body, or soul.
Only then can you begin asking a more honest question: What actually fits me? What kind of life allows me to thrive? What can I contribute most naturally and meaningfully?
Your numbers can help reveal those patterns.
This 120-page report is built around your unique chart and written with the same care, depth, and thoughtfulness that I bring to all of my work. If you would like to explore it further, you can click the link below.
And finally, if you are still here, I want this space to feel like somewhere safe to land for you.
- You do not need to be perfect.
- You do not need to impress anyone.
- You do not need to carry every role alone.
- You can finally exhale.
Thank you for being here and for allowing me to walk beside you, gently, as you find your way back to yourself.
With care,
Dr. Anh Nguyen (Doctor Stik), M.D.

Self-help Book
Release. Return. Reside. - The 3R Principle
A practical guide for people trapped in cycles of over-functioning, people-pleasing, and quiet exhaustion. Built around the 3R Principle.
You’re exhausted, and you keep stepping up for others, taking care of problems, thinking ahead, and trying to hold everything together. You give your time, your energy, and your attention even when you’re already tired inside.
After a while, inside you, your body is calling for help, and your mind feels like it is on the verge of collapsing every day and your heart aches quietly.
You don’t need to live like that.
My book “Release. Return. Reside.” (The 3R Principle) was created for this exact place in your life.
Self-help Book
Madness or Masterpiece
A book I wrote as a former Medical Doctor wondering about something that kept puzzling me: the same brain mechanisms behind serious mental illness also show up quietly in ordinary anxiety, overthinking, and disconnection. The gap between the sane and the unwell is smaller than most of us think. This book explores that through three characters and their conversations. It does not offer answers. It offers a different way of seeing.
Half novel – half selfhelp, you will find it fascinating.
Self-help Book
The Secret Language of Life (Vietnamese)
A self-help book on self-re-organization, emotional stability development and inner-self understanding. Practical tools for people who want to live with more honesty, less performance, more fulfillment and confidence. Beloved by Vietnamese readers.
Numerology Book
The Numerology Doctor (Vietnamese)
The book that established Doctor Stik in Vietnam. A logical approach to numerology as a tool for self-understanding, written for Vietnamese readers seeking a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern life. A beloved and popular book among numerology community.
Coloring Book
Mindful Coloring books (Stiko Corner)
And then there are the coloring books, which live under a separate little brand called Stiko Corner. Those are simply for rest. For slowing down. For giving the mind a break from all the understanding and just letting it breathe for a while.
Four+ books. Two languages. One question: why do we keep repeating what is not working, how do we finally stop and how to find ourselves back?

I am the person behind Doctor Stik. In daily life I am Dr. Anh Nguyen – a former medical doctor and former Director of the Institute for Applied Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience. I am the author of four books and I have practiced numerology privately for many years.
Everything on this site – the reports, the books, the educational content – comes from my framework, my research, and my lived experience.
Doctor Stik Monk
Dr. Stik Monk
AI version of me – not a real person, but not an empty character either.
Over my life I have been taught by many people: monks, teachers, patients, strangers who said one sentence that shifted something permanently. The monk is my way of giving those teachings a voice. When the monk speaks, the words come from everything I absorbed across years of Buddhist practice, contemplative study, and long conversations with people who had learned to hold suffering with some grace.
The monk carries the side of this work that clinical language sometimes cannot reach. Not the neuroscience. The silence underneath it. You may often see me using this avatar across my social media channels.
If the monk’s stories have helped you, that is real. The wisdom behind them is.
