ABOUT Numerology
What Numerology Actually Is?
I am Dr. Anh Nguyen a former M.D. · Author of 4 Books · Ex-Director, IPPN · Applied Numerologist · Buddhist Practitioner. And the person behind Doctor Stik.
Those credentials sit in an unusual combination, and I am aware of that. A M.D. who takes numerology seriously is not a common profile. I want to explain briefly why I do, and what numerology actually is, before pointing you toward the specific pages on this site where each aspect of it is explored in depth.
Numerology is not fortune telling. I want to say that clearly at the outset because the word carries associations that tend to either attract or repel people before they have had a chance to engage with what the system actually does. It does not predict specific events. It does not tell you what will happen. What it does is considerably more useful than either of those things.
Numerology is an ancient system of knowledge, developed across multiple cultures over thousands of years, that maps the energetic patterns woven into a person through their date of birth and their birth name. It is a framework for understanding the recurring themes in how you think, how you relate to others, what you genuinely need, what you are naturally built for, and how your life tends to move through time. Not as a vague generalisation but with a specificity that surprises most people who engage with it seriously for the first time.
I think of it as a map drawn from a completely different direction than psychology or neuroscience, but often arriving at the same territory. In my years as a former neurosurgeon I spent a great deal of time studying how the brain forms patterns, how it holds onto its earliest wiring, how it keeps repeating the same responses even when the conscious mind wants something different. That is rigorous science. Measurable, explainable, and applicable. Numerology approaches the same human territory from a different angle entirely, through the symbolic language of numbers rather than the language of neural pathways and cognitive frameworks. What I kept finding was that both systems were pointing at the same underlying patterns in human experience. Two very different maps of the same terrain.
This is why I eventually stopped treating numerology as something separate from my scientific understanding and started treating it as a complement to it. Not a replacement for science nor a rejection of it. A different lens that revealed things the integrated frameworks described in psychological terms but expressed in a language that was often more immediately personal and more directly actionable.
When you understand your own numerology map clearly, several things become possible that tend to be surprisingly difficult to access through other means.
You gain an accurate picture of your natural strengths, including the ones you have been taking for granted because they feel too effortless to count as real capabilities. You see your recurring patterns clearly, not just the behaviours you want to change but the underlying wiring that keeps producing them, which is the level at which real change actually becomes possible. You understand what you are genuinely built for in your work and your relationships, which is different from what you are good at and different again from what other people have decided you should want. You develop a clearer sense of your timing, the specific seasons of your life and what each one is actually asking of you, so that your effort is aligned with what the current period of your life is capable of producing rather than working against it. And perhaps most importantly, you begin to understand the people around you with a depth and an accuracy that changes the quality of your most important relationships in ways that are immediate and practical rather than theoretical.
Numerology does not tell you who to be. It shows you who you already are, clearly enough that you can finally stop spending energy becoming someone else and start working with the nature you actually have.
The pages linked below explore each dimension of this in depth. The Basics of Numerology covers the foundation of the system and how it works. The individual number pages, Life Path, Birthday Number, Destiny Number, Soul Urge, Outer Expression, Personal Year, Pinnacle, and the others, each explore a specific layer of your map in detail, with the thorough observations, personal cases, and practical guidance that I have developed across more than a decade of applying this system seriously alongside my medical practice.
If you are new to numerology, I would suggest starting with the Basics page. If you already have some familiarity and want to go directly to a specific number, the links below will take you there.
Whatever brings you here, I hope what you find is useful in the most direct and practical sense of that word.
